When you live in The Bahamas; it’s summer 365 days a year…366 if you’re nasty!
I’m such an island girl and I love anything to do with emerald hued waves, blankets of sand that melt under my feet and rays of sunshine that bathe my skin; immediately activating my melanin. With the blessings bestowed upon me by the good Lord, this is my daily reality. But something sort of special happens when summer officially rolls around in The Bahamas.
It may just be a mental thing, but during the summertime, the vibrant hues around town dance and gyrate more vulgarly; making sure you see them. The whole mood and vibe of the city has its lever dialled to “PARTY” and the friends, festivities, food and frolicking are in excess.
I’m so ready for 93 days of glorious summer! I took a stroll around parts of the city center recently to capture the Crayola box that is Nassau, Bahamas as I mentally prep for a stretch of days filled with bonfires, drop top rides, wrinkly swim fingers and wet hair.

These red shutters are so beautiful and bring loads of life to an area littered with government offices, legal firms, banks and hard work. They’ve been featured in many photo shoots and even wedding albums…because they’re that beautiful!
Location: Montagu Beach
What I wore: nothing lol! I’m kidding, I was fully clothed under my floppy hat!
These summer ready “message” hats have taken over Instagram and I had to get my hands on two of them. “Do Not Disturb” and “Wish You Were Here” will be my mottos for the summer!
